Resin Solutions traces its origins to the early development of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) for solid rocket propulsion — a chemistry that has since become foundational to the world’s most critical defense and space programs. Over 50 years, our team has expanded that expertise into industrial polyurethanes, metallic monomer crosslinkers, and next-generation propulsion technologies.

Today, Resin Solutions operates as a focused, independent specialty chemical company with production facilities in the United States and Europe. Under new ownership since 2023, the company has undergone a significant transformation — streamlining operations, investing in growth markets, and elevating its brand to reflect the strategic importance of the chemistry we produce.

Key Milestones

1970s

HTPB production begins, establishing the foundation for what will become the global standard in solid rocket propellant binder chemistry.

1980s–1990s

Poly bd® products gain widespread adoption across U.S. defense programs and expand into industrial polyurethane markets. Dymalink® metallic monomers enter production for the golf and automotive elastomer industries.

2000s–2010s

European production capability established in Ravenna, Italy, expanding global reach and providing geographic supply redundancy for defense and industrial customers worldwide.

2023

Resin Solutions begins operating under new ownership, launching a transformation focused on operational efficiency, market-driven growth, and brand elevation.

2024–2025

Company completes strategic transformation: exiting unprofitable product lines, consolidating facilities, right-sizing operations, and driving accelerated growth in aerospace and defense markets. Stratix™ brand launched for aerospace-grade HTPB product line.
